Cast-Iron Fig & Herb Chicken with Dust & Bloom Farmstead Favorite
Golden, juicy chicken thighs seared in a cast-iron skillet with caramelized shallots, fresh figs, and Dust & Bloom’s Farmstead Favorite — rustic, cozy, and full of fall flavor.
🧂 Ingredients (Serves 4)
• 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 1 tsp sea salt
• ½ tsp black pepper
• 1 tbsp Dust & Bloom Farmstead Favorite
• 2 shallots, sliced
• 6–8 fresh figs, halved
• 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
• 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
• 3 sprigs fresh thyme or rosemary
• 2 tbsp butter (optional for richness)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Pat chicken dry, then season both sides with salt, pepper, and Dust & Bloom Farmstead Favorite.
3. Heat olive oil in your cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
4. Sear chicken thighs skin-side down for 5–6 minutes until golden and crisp. Flip and sear the other side for 2–3 minutes.
5. Add shallots, figs, honey, and balsamic vinegar to the skillet. Nestle everything around the chicken.
6. Add thyme or rosemary sprigs and a small knob of butter.
7. Transfer skillet to the oven and roast for 15–18 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F internally and sauce has thickened.
8. Spoon the fig-balsamic glaze over the chicken before serving.

• Serve over creamy mashed sweet potatoes or herbed quinoa.
• Garnish with extra fresh thyme and a drizzle of balsamic reduction.
